Everton: TFG strike gold as CMC Markets make official eight-figure sponsorship offer - source

Everton are close to securing their new front-of-shirt sponsorship deal with CMC Markets, who have now offered the Friedkin Group a deal worth £30million.

That seems to be the figure for just next season alone, as talks with the London-listed financial company run by Lord Cruddas have been ongoing for a few weeks now.

Fulham were also said to be in talks with CMC Markets, but it seems like the Toffees could wrap a deal up before them very soon.

Initially, it was thought that the Friedkin Group would see a “modest” increase on their current deal with Stake.com through this switch, and CMC Markets’ deal with the Blues, and Fulham was said to be worth £50m.

However, Everton look set to bank £30m from next season onwards with their potential new partners, which would be a £20m increase on their current deal with Stake.

How have TFG done this amid £80m top-flight revenue fears?

The update comes as per a reliable Everton news source, Bobble via X, as it now seems like an agreement is close to being reached.

The Friedkin Group always knew that they were going to have to find new sponsors before next season, with a ban against gambling companies featuring on the front of shirts.

However, they’ve done exceptionally well not only to find new partners but also to find a company that will significantly increase Everton’s sponsorship revenue.

Especially when considering that Premier League clubs are expecting a collective £80m drop in sponsorship income, purely down to the ban against gambling companies.

These companies are still allowed to feature on the shirts as Stake will remain a partner with the Toffees, but are now set to be placed on shirt sleeves.

Could it help fund summer transfers?

While the Friedkin Group will most likely receive this £30m payment in lumps or all at once later on next year, they will have confidence knowing that they have extra funds coming in than usual.

Not only will it help with any PSR issues, but it may keep the Everton owners at peace of mind when buying players this summer.

Though the nearing sponsorship won’t fully fund transfers, at the end of the day, it’s another reason that the Friedkin Group have to go for it this summer.

A new right back is at the top of David Moyes‘ list, along with a striker, but sales may also be tempted.
