Everton to face transfer decision on player after possible improved bid from Euro club - report

Tim Iroegbunam has been in the headlines as Everton rejected a bid from Lazio in the winter transfer window.

The English midfielder has emerged as a target for the Serie A outfit, who recently sold Matteo Guendouzi to Fenerbahce.

Lazio bid around £10million for Iroegbunam, but the Toffees were quick to rebuff the offer for the Italian club.

Idrissa Gueye has returned to the Hill Dickinson Stadium after winning AFCON with Senegal, starting alongside James Garner in the 1-1 draw against Leeds United.

Everton to face massive decision with new Lazio bid

Lazio may make an improved offer for Iroegbunam, leaving the Toffees with a decision to make, according to The Independent.

The news outlet reports on 26 January that while the Serie A side were unable to match the midfielder’s valuation at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, they could potentially up their offer.

It’s been claimed that the Blues may want funds to reinvest in their squad before the 2 February deadline, and the 22-year-old’s situation will be one to keep an eye on.

Harrison Armstrong has been a revelation under Moyes, with the young midfielder playing a key role since returning from his loan spell at Preston North End.

Garner has arguably taken his game to the next level this season and has undoubtedly been one of the best midfielders in the Premier League recently.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has also returned to action, giving the Scottish manager plenty of options in the engine room apart from Iroegbunam.

David Moyes to walk back on promise after Tim Iroegbunam exit

Iroegbunam has also been linked with Sheffield United, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the midfielder leave in the coming days.

If Everton do end up losing the former Aston Villa ace, Moyes may be forced to block another exit at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The Scottish manager has been open to sending Armstrong back on loan to PNE under the right circumstances, but Iroegbunam’s exit will make that difficult.

Moyes may have to walk back on his promise to Paul Heckingbottom, who hopes for the 19-year-old’s return to Deepdale.
