Everton want £17.3m for player sale, agent departs - journalist

Everton have demanded £17.3million for Beto after Fenerbahce offered to take him on loan in the winter transfer window.

Talks have also taken place over potentially swapping Beto for Youssef En-Nesyri in January, but the Morocco international doesn’t seem to be keen on moving to the Premier League.

The Super Lig club’s loan proposal has been rejected, and the Toffees presented a counteroffer to sell the former Udinese striker.

Beto’s agent travelled to Istanbul to hold talks with Fenerbahce, but he’s now left the city after the outcome of the negotiations.

Fenerbahce walk away after Everton asking price for Beto

Fenerbahce have been unable to reach an agreement with the Toffees over the signing of Beto, according to Yagiz Sabuncuoglu.

The Sports Digitale journalist revealed on 24 January that the Turkish club “walked away from the table” after the Blues’ demanded £17.3m for the Guinea-Bissau international.

It’s been claimed that the striker’s agent has also left Istanbul after the Merseyside outfit and Fenerbahce failed to come to terms on a possible deal.

David Moyes has said he’s unaware of talks regarding Beto’s exit, and it wouldn’t have made sense for the Scottish manager to lose him.

Thierno Barry and the Guinea-Bissau star are the only two natural number nines at the 62-year-old head coach’s disposal, and the side in L4 should be thinking about adding to their ranks rather than losing depth.

So far, it’s been a quiet window for the Hill Dickinson Stadium faithful, and only time will tell whether The Friedkin Group will be willing to make an investment in the coming weeks.

Friedkin Group should be ashamed if David Moyes feelings aren’t respected

Moyes may privately feel that he needs a few permanent signings at Everton, but TFG don’t seem to have any plans apart from a few loan additions in January.

With Jack Grealish possibly out for an extended period after sustaining a foot injury, the American owners can’t afford to stay silent.

The Manchester City loanee has been one of the most important creative outlets at the Merseyside outfit, and his loss is arguably a concern.

TFG should put their hands in their pockets and address the deepening attacking woes that the Toffees will surely face in Grealish’s absence.
