Everton winter window 2026 round-up: Patterson loan confirmed, Blues star 'devastated'
David Moyes now knows which Everton players will be with him until the end of the season after the winter transfer window slammed shut.
After Everton lost Manchester City loanee Jack Grealish to injury, it was imperative that they found an attacking replacement for the second half of the season.
And at the 11th hour on Monday night, Everton secured the loan deal of Tyrique George from Chelsea, plus, there is an option to make the move permanent in the summer.
Elsewhere, under-21s midfielder Jack Patterson has headed out on loan to LKS Lodz, as he seeks regular game time.
Harrison Armstrong was recalled from his loan spell at Championship side Preston, and a flurry of youngsters headed out on loan. Now, Goodison News has compiled a round-up of Everton’s winter window transfer dealings, including some players that got away.
Everton’s loan army and ambitious transfer targets
Last month, Everton were seemingly in for Besiktas’ Tammy Abraham, but he eventually re-signed for Aston Villa.
Elsewhere in attack, Everton threw their hat into the ring for Youssef En-Nesyri of Fenerbahce, which ultimately came to nothing, and for a time, West Ham’s Callum Wilson was nearing an exit, only to stay on at London Stadium.
Everton were also linked with Genoa star Brooke Norton-Cuffy, but the Italian team were not interested in parting company with the full-back.
Lower down Everton’s food chain, there were loan moves for George Finney to Ayr United, George Morgan to AS Cannes, Francis Okoronkwo to Doncaster Rovers, Roman Dixon to Stockport County, Will Tamen to Tranmere Rovers, and Eli Campbell and Martin Sherif to Port Vale.

Everton secure last-gasp Tyrique George deal
Everton were linked with a deal for free agent Raheem Sterling after his Chelsea contract was terminated by mutual agreement, but instead, they looked at another Blues player.
Now, Everton have confirmed Chelsea’s George as a Toffee for the rest of the season on loan.
The winger nearly sealed a £22million move to Fulham last summer, but that fell through. It is not yet known how much Everton’s buy option for the 19-year-old is.
Competition among Chelsea’s wingers is fierce, so this may be a good chance for George to impress at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Everton agree on loan exit as Dwight McNeil move collapses
Shortly before the winter window closed, Nathan Patterson stayed put, but Everton’s other Patterson joined LKS Lodz on loan, with the Polish second-tier side also having an option to turn that into a permanent deal.
At the start of January, Everton recalled Armstrong from Preston to bolster their midfield options, but one man who looked set for a deadline day exit was midfielder Dwight McNeil.
But, out of the blue, McNeil’s £20m switch from Everton to Crystal Palace fell through – something ex-Liverpool man Danny Murphy said he would have been “devastated” by.

After struggling for game time at the Toffees, this Selhurst Park switch offered the former Burnley man a fresh start.
In the end, McNeil and his partner were left very disappointed as the Everton transfer exit collapsed. The transfer window can make or break dreams it seems.
