'Everything is finalised' for Neal Maupay's next move, months after Everton exit - report
Neal Maupay’s Everton career fizzled out quite dramatically, and the same might be happening at Marseille.
The Toffees brought the Frenchman to Goodison Park in 2022 from Brighton, in a transfer that failed to inspire.
Everton decided to loan Maupay out to Marseille for the 2024-25 season as the striker chose to join the French side on a permanent deal in the summer after failing to find success on Merseyside.
This move came off the back of a loan transfer to his former club Brentford during the 2023-24 campaign, where he scored eight goals for the Bees.
But there was evidence that Maupay had a bad attitude, and as a result, Bluenoses were happy to cut ties with the forward a couple of months ago.
Now, Maupay seems to be having a hard time convincing others in his homeland of France.

Neal Maupay set to join Sevilla on five-month loan
David Moyes wants a new striker this month, but he’ll be glad that Maupay is off Everton‘s books.
The striker was a liability in front of goal, and it seems his Marseille boss, Roberto De Zerbi, isn’t fond of him either.

The 29-year-old has played for Marseille’s B team this campaign, and it would be no surprise to hear if this was due to his poor mentality on the training ground.
According to French outlet le10sport.com on Monday, Maupay is joining Spanish side Sevilla on a five-month loan.
The deal has an option to buy for around £4million and “everything is done” for the transfer to go through.
It’s said that Marseille “preferred” the exit of the number nine, with Maupay racking up £1.75million in wages annually.
Thierno Barry is already miles ahead of Maupay; the stats prove it
Everton managed to get around £4.5m through the sale of Maupay, with extra add-ons now unlikely to come the Toffees’ way due to his failings with Marseille.
Moyes replaced the forward with Thierno Barry in the summer, and the striker is proving why the Blues made the right choice.

Barry has had his critics this season, but he is already proving to be a much better signing than Maupay ever was.
The young attacker has given the Blues and Moyes hope for future success, as the striker is truly someone who Everton can grow with in time.
