Everything we know about Lyall Cameron's Rangers contract ahead of return from Aberdeen
Rangers gave the green light for Lyall Cameron to join Aberdeen on loan in January.
The former Scotland Under-21 international only completed a free transfer switch to Ibrox in the summer, but was allowed to leave just months later.
The former Dundee man made just 10 appearances for the Light Blues before sealing a temporary departure from Govan.
That came as a surprise to some, but it has allowed the midfielder to get some Scottish Premiership minutes under his belt.
Cameron has featured for Aberdeen across the second half of the season, and we have now assessed what we know about his current deal in G51.

What is Lyall Cameron’s contract situation at Rangers?
The 23-year-old hasn’t been shy in discussing what went wrong in his short-lived spell at Ibrox after sealing a pre-contract agreement.
He wasn’t given a fair chance to prove himself under Danny Rohl, but was keen to play football in Scotland, so he took the chance to move on.

That isn’t to say there is no chance of him thriving at Ibrox, it is just unfortunate that the manager who signed him, Philippe Clement, was sacked before he even came in.
It was clear that the Gers backed him to succeed in G51 after tabling a four-year deal in February 2025 that will keep him in Govan until 2029.
As part of that deal, he is reportedly paid £6,000 per week, equating to a yearly salary in the region of £312,000.
Cameron may end up staying at Aberdeen, but his future is certainly set to come into question when the transfer window opens.
Could Cameron stay at Aberdeen next season?
The versatile midfielder looked like a bargain signing when he completed a free transfer switch ahead of the summer.
Things haven’t worked out, but he has gone on to be a useful signing for the Dons and has shown some positive signs under Peter Leven.
That in itself could be enough for them to make the deal permanent, with the chances only made stronger by Tochi Chukwuani’s winter transfer.
With Nico Raskin, Connor Barron, Mohamed Diomande and Thelo Aasgaard also available, it isn’t painting a great picture for Cameron.
If Bailey Rice can’t get a game and looks set to leave, it feels that a permanent stay at Aberdeen could be on the cards for the Scot.
