Manchester United wanted to sign Trincao last summer. Trincao was also linked with Manchester City.

Francisco Trincao on Liverpool radar

The Sporting CP midfielder has done quite well this season, and he could prove to be an excellent acquisition for Liverpool. They need more creativity in the final third, especially after the departure of Mohamed Salah.

The 26-year-old has 30 goal contributions this season, and he can operate in the central attacking midfield role as well as on the flanks. His versatility would be a huge bonus for Liverpool. He has played in England before with Wolves, and he knows the league well. He might be able to settle in quickly and make an immediate impact.

The opportunity to join one of the biggest clubs in the world will be exciting for him. Trincao has 12 goals and 18 assists to his name this season.

Trincao could be an expensive addition

The asking price could prove to be a problem. Even though he is a quality player, Liverpool might not want to pay €60 million for him. The Portuguese club will have to be reasonable with their demands. Liverpool needs to improve multiple areas of the squad in the summer. They cannot afford to overpay for the Portuguese international.

The 26-year-old is at the peak of his powers, and this is the right time for him to return to the Premier League. His time with Wolves was underwhelming, and he will look to prove himself in English football this time around.
