Ex-scout: Everton can offer something Aston Villa can't for 62-cap int'l in 'bargain' transfer
Everton could complete a deal to sign Weston McKennie ahead of Aston Villa this winter.
McKennie has been linked to Everton in the past, but could now reignite their interest under David Moyes.
There were suggestions in 2024 that McKennie could replace Amadou Onana at Everton, but a deal never materialised.
Onana joined Villa for over £50million and has never truly been replaced, something which could happen as the January transfer window continues.
McKennie is seemingly available this winter, and the Toffees could look to beat Premier League opposition to land his signature.
Everton and Aston Villa could move for Weston McKennie
It looks as if Harrison Armstrong could return to Preston North End on loan despite only being recalled on 1 January.
That would point towards midfield reinforcements being in the pipeline, as the teenager has made two starts since coming back to Merseyside.

The door may be open for McKennie to make a Premier League move, although it appears that he has many options on the table.
Former scout Bryan King has put forward Everton and Aston Villa as potential destinations, but the Toffees may just have the edge over Unai Emery’s men.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, King said: “I think they could challenge Aston Villa for McKennie.
“He probably walks straight into the team at Everton, but he’d have to bide his time at Villa.

“It’s a situation where Everton can offer him immediate minutes, whereas Villa would have to see where he fits in.
“A £10million fee certainly seems like a good deal, but considering Roma are bringing in players for over £20m, it looks like Everton are searching the bargain section.“
David Moyes will love McKennie at Everton
The fact that a player with 62 international caps and over 200 Serie A appearances could be available for just £10m is a steal.
McKennie has been a useful asset for Juventus this season, and his stats prove exactly why many think he is being undervalued by the Old Lady.

The American may have struggled on his previous Premier League stint with Leeds United, but things could prove to be different on Merseyside.
Moyes loves a physical midfielder with goal threat, and with McKennie, he could bring that to the Hill Dickinson Stadium in January.
