'Excellent' Everton star set for return to training ahead of Leeds clash - report

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has been a big miss for Everton lately.

David Moyes has had to deal with several injury issues in recent weeks, and now Jack Grealish faces a lengthy period on the Everton sidelines.

Dewsbury-Hall has scored four goals and notched three assists in 16 matches since signing for the Blues, but has missed the last seven matches with a hamstring issue.

There may be positive news when it comes to Dewsbury-Hall, though, after a new update was shared on his fitness ahead of the Leeds match.

What is the latest on Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall?

Dewsbury-Hall’s absence has been a big one for Everton, but there may be good news on that front.

Bobble reported on 22 January that Dewsbury-Hall is set to return to training, in a timely update for the Toffees ahead of the clash with Daniel Farke’s side.

Moyes described the midfielder as “excellent” ahead of the 2-0 loss to Chelsea in December, and he will be relieved to have him back in the picture.

When will Dewsbury-Hall return to Everton action?

Dewsbury-Hall may not return to action straight away despite being back in training, which is unfortunate for Moyes and supporters who are raring to see him come back into the side.

Players do not typically go straight back into the team when they recover from an issue, especially one that has kept them out for so long.

If he were thrown back into the fold quickly for the clash with the Peacocks, he would risk getting reinjured and face an even longer time on the sidelines, which would be disastrous for the Blues, given their current issues.

It will be brilliant to have the former Chelsea man back in the mix, but we may not see him on the pitch against the Whites, or even in the matchday squad.

Moyes will surely provide an update in his pre-match press conference on 23 January, and Evertonians will have a keen eye on that, as the Scotsman shares how much progress he has made.

Then we should have a clearer timescale as to when he will actually return to the starting line-up, but it is definitely encouraging that he is returning to training imminently.
