Expert - Daniel Levy 'missed' at Tottenham as 'problem' emerges
Tottenham Hotspur’s commercial issues means the club will miss former executive chairman Daniel Levy’s negotiating skills.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who has questioned the leadership at the top of Spurs.
Levy departed Spurs after nearly 25 years at the club in September 2025, with the businessman credited for increasing their commercial value.
Spurs could face a huge financial hit if the club are relegated from the Premier League this season, with Igor Tudor’s side only four points above the relegation zone.

Daniel Levy ”very hard to replace’ at Tottenham
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – is unsure who is behind Spurs’ commercial situation now Levy has left the club.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness believes Levy will be “missed” at Spurs.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I think Spurs are in a bit of a problem here in terms of the commercial side.
“Again, is the leadership really there behind the scenes and driving that commercial situation? Daniel was always the one who was hands-on negotiating those deals.
“And I just think, he’s going to be very, very hard to replace in that area. He had a vision of what he brought to the stadium in terms of what it was worth, and he was getting there, so I think he’s going to be missed from the commercial point of view as well.”

How much would Tottenham lose on Premier League relegation?
Spurs would lose £75million on Premier League relegation, due to a significant drop in broadcast revenue if they played in the Championship next season.
The north London club have never been relegated from the Premier League, and they face losing many of their top players too if they drop into the second tier.
Matchday revenue would also likely drop in the Championship, but Spurs would back themselves to get promoted back to the Premier League at the first attempt.
