Ferguson agrees with Tom Miller on possible next loan destination for Rangers prospect

Rangers could potentially send Paul Nsio to Kilmarnock on loan in the upcoming transfer window.

Tom Miller brought up the possibility of the 20-year-old moving to the Killies ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, to which Barry Ferguson seemed to agree.

The former Gers interim manager has watched the midfielder play for Raith Rovers this season and believes another move away from Ibrox could be influential for him.

Dougie Imrie wants to keep Nsio at Raith, but it remains to be seen what the Glaswegian outfit have in mind for his future.

Findlay Curtis has thrived at Kilmarnock and the Govan side may see that as the perfect next destination for the midfielder to get some valuable experience in the top flight.

Rangers have massive academy priority for coming years

Speaking on Five Stars VIP on 5 May, Ferguson said, “I watched [Nsio] last week against Ross County and he was really good. He’s only been out for six months. Players like that need it. This is good for their development. Getting them out and playing them at a real good level, a physical level. I think maybe they might look to loan him out again.”

Miller interjected, “Kilmarnock potentially,” and Ferguson responded, “Aye. And I think it’s important that these boys do go out and experience proper football first and foremost, so when they come back, they’re ready, hopefully, to get into the first team.”

In recent years, the Gers have struggled to produce many academy stars who have gone on to contribute to the first team.

There has arguably been a lack of initiative from managers to give youngsters an opportunity at the Light Blues due to the demanding expectations in G51 for silverware.

The management need to do better to provide a better pathway for youngsters to make their mark at Ibrox, something the likes of Bailey Rice haven’t been able to do due to a lack of minutes.

Curtis is another example of the Govan side’s lack of faith in their academy talent, with Rohl opting to send the Scotland international out on loan and bringing in Andreas Skov Olsen as a replacement.

Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises must bring identity back at Ibrox

Rangers fans want to see more Scottish players in their team after having none start against Hearts in the 2-1 loss at Tynecastle Park.

There is a belief among some Gers supporters that the squad lacks an understanding of what playing in Govan means.

With the rivalry in Scottish football not for the fainthearted, players from overseas need to realise what they represent when they put on the Light Blue jersey.

If Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises want to bring success back to Ibrox, they may need to invest in better leadership and character in the squad.
