Former Thomas Frank star speaks out on Tottenham sack latest

Thomas Frank’s future at Tottenham is in a precarious position.

Frank is under intense scrutiny as Spurs sit 14th in the Premier League table after 23 matches.

Tottenham drew 2-2 with Burnley on Saturday, and they now sit 10 points behind fourth-placed Man United, meaning their hopes of achieving Champions League football next season look incredibly slim.

Although Frank has gotten a tune out of his players in the Champions League, Spurs fans have had enough of the boring style of play.

Despite the result on Saturday, Frank still has the backing of the board ahead of Wednesday’s clash with Eintracht Frankfurt.

Ben Mee backs Thomas Frank to succeed at Tottenham

Frank is living on borrowed time in N17, and his former player, Ben Mee, has spoken out on Tottenham‘s situation.

Mee played under the Dane at Brentford between 2022 and 2025, making 67 appearances in that time.

Speaking on talkSPORT on 26 January, he believes Frank deserves more time to turn things around.

He said: “I believe he’s a top, top manager. Tottenham can’t keep going from manager to manager every six months. It takes time to implement change.

“Every ounce of thought goes into his process at Tottenham, and some of the players have to take responsibility.

“Micky van de Ven being one of their top scorers doesn’t help, and their attackers need more consistency in the team.”

The Tottenham board will undoubtedly hold talks with Frank if Spurs lose to Frankfurt and drop out of the top eight of the Champions League table.

If results don’t improve soon, Spurs will have no choice but to dismiss him, and there are several candidates to choose from as his replacement.

Who could become the Tottenham manager if Thomas Frank is sacked?

The most likely scenario is for the board to hire an interim manager until the end of the season, before making an appointment in the summer.

Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with a return to Tottenham after he manages the USA for the 2026 World Cup.

Fans would be delighted to see him back in the dugout, and appointing someone who has proven himself to be successful would certainly work.

Alternatively, former striker Robbie Keane has been linked with the job, potentially taking the role on an interim basis, with the possibility of being made the permanent boss if he does well.

John Heitinga, one of Tottenham’s coaches, has previous managerial experience at Ajax, and he could be someone to step up until the end of the season.

Of course, Frank has to get sacked before any of this can happen, but all the signs are pointing to that happening very soon.
