'Howe is not happy' - Expert: Newcastle plot move to sign Yoane Wissa replacement
Newcastle United are making plans to sign a new striker in the summer transfer window as Yoane Wissa and Nick Woltemade have disappointed.
Eddie Howe is believed to be unhappy with his current attacking options, Wissa in particular, as they have failed to impress during what has been a tricky season.
Despite an impressive 2-1 win against Man United last time out, the Magpies remain 12th in the Premier League table and nine points short of Champions League qualification.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Newcastle were frustrated last summer and were forced to sign “fourth or fifth-choice” options.
After missing out on the likes of Benjamin Sesko, Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, Howe’s side plan to enter the market again as Newcastle set their sights on new targets.

Eddie Howe sets sights on Yoane Wissa replacement
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 12 February that Newcastle will prioritise signing a new striker, as they are unhappy with both Woltemade and Wissa.
Since their arrivals last summer, the pair have a combined eight goals in 37 league games, with seven of those coming from the Germany international.
“Both of Newcastle’s strikers have been disappointing,” Brown told Football Insider.
“I think especially Wissa, because he’s come from Brentford, he’s got that experience in the Premier League and he’s really struggled to have any impact.
“At least Woltemade has scored a few goals and you can see what he offers to the team.
“Eddie Howe isn’t happy with his strikers, though, and it was difficult for them after losing Isak and they missed out on the players they really wanted to bring in.

“They ended up with their fourth or fifth-choice strikers and that’s never the position you want to be in, so it looks like they’re already looking to replace them.
“Wissa especially has underwhelmed, for me, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see Newcastle look to replace him with a reliable goalscoring striker, although that’s easier said than done.”
Which strikers are on Newcastle’s radar?
Given the Magpies’ unhappiness with their current attacking options, they are being linked with a number of alternatives ahead of the summer transfer window.
Darwin Nunez has been linked with a shock return to the Premier League, but is currently considered unlikely to move to Newcastle despite their plans.
Meanwhile, Brown told Football Insider last month that Newcastle are interested in Jean-Philippe Mateta, who is expected to leave Crystal Palace.

Howe is keen to recruit players with Premier League experience, and Mateta’s goalscoring record in England’s top tier has placed him firmly on their radar.
The striker missed out on a move to AC Milan in January, but is due to return from his injury at Palace, and will aim to move on in the summer.
