Rangers shouldn’t need to worry about Nicolas Raskin‘s future so long as Danny Rohl is in charge.

The Bears came close to losing the midfielder last summer, as former Gers Russell Martin wanted him to leave Ibrox for bizarre reasons.

Rangers were aware of foreign interest in the 25-year-old, who some believe could seek pastures new after four impressive seasons with the Bears.

He’s now racked up 143 appearances for the Light Blues, and could easily demand a move away from the club.

Raskin said, as quoted by the Rangers Review this Tuesday: “I love that from Danny. I think the gaffer’s been the best guy at this period of time to stabilise the ship, to calm everyone down.

“Because over the last three years I’ve been here, there’s always been such ups and downs, whether you win or lose one game. And it was really refreshing to have someone who comes in, never gets carried away with the win, but never gets really low with a loss either.

He went on to explain how he is an honest character, which we all know, so if there were ever a time when he were to leave, the Belgian would most likely be open about it.

What every Rangers fan wants is to see the maestro lift the league title in May; that would be the dream.

Why a title win would prompt new Raskin deal

Besiktas and English clubs have been linked with Raskin in the past, namely Tottenham Hotspur, and it would be no surprise to hear more rumours this summer.

However, given his bond with Rohl and affection for the Bears, the versatile star would likely stay at Ibrox, so long as the ambition is there.

Raskin’s deal at Ibrox still has over two years left on it, which means if the 49ers wanted to, they could get a hefty fee for him in a couple of months.

However, the likelihood is that winning the league would see the 49ers invest further and keep the likes of Raskin and other top stars around for a push in Europe.

In doing so, Rangers could offer him new terms to fend off other clubs.
