Igor Tudor to face the media as Tottenham sack decision may already have been made
Igor Tudor is set to take his pre-match press conference ahead of Tottenham’s Premier League clash with Crystal Palace on Wednesday.
The Croatian arrived last month with one job: steer Spurs to safety.
However, Tottenham have lost both matches under his guidance thus far – a 4-1 home loss against Arsenal, and a 2-1 away loss against Fulham on Sunday.
Back at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Lilywhites are looking to kickstart some form against an inconsistent Crystal Palace side.
Though this comes as speculation around Tudor’s future is already filling the air in North London.
Chris Sutton believes Igor Tudor is in sack trouble already
Like multiple previous Tottenham managers, Tudor has remained outspoken when speaking to the media thus far, further emphasising the problems raised by Antonio Conte, Jose Mourinho and Ange Postecoglou in the past.
Though, Chris Sutton doesn’t think that his current demeanour is right for the struggling Spurs squad.
“He really worries me, Igor Tudor,” said Sutton, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live this week.
“He doesn’t take any responsibility himself. He has blamed absolutely everybody in the two games he has had as manager, apart from himself,” he added.
“After the Fulham game, he basically called every part of his team useless. That’s tough love, and I’m not so sure how these Tottenham players will react to this.”
Spurs’ mentality has been questioned multiple times this season, with vice-captain Micky Van de Ven also coming under fire following an incident in the North London derby loss.
With the club showing no sign of revival thus far, Sutton believes that Tudor’s future could already be up in the air.
“It might sound ridiculous,” he said. “But this could be a guy who is in for three games. If they lose to Palace at home, he could be gone.”
Tudor will no doubt address those concerns at his presser, which as pointed out by journalist Chris Cowlin via X, will be held at 1:30pm on Wednesday.
Tottenham have proven themselves as mentally weak
While the obvious criticisms around the club’s recruitment, spending and overall lack of direction ring true, the simple fact of the matter is that the players on the pitch have to take some responsibility.
Since the inception of the Premier League, Tottenham have played the role of nearly men. Even at their most recent peak under Mauricio Pochettino, the Lilywhites’ inability to get over the line and lift silverware sparked humorous reactions across the nation.
Now, Spurs sit just outside the relegation zone – something that simply should not be the case.

Tottenham have left themselves short in the transfer market, that is obvious.
But for players who will likely be hoping for moves away at the end of the season, they are hardly doing themselves any favours with their current performances, in terms of both quality and mentality.
Tudor was brought to the club having gained a firefighter reputation across different jobs, however this current Spurs squad is currently proving hard to improve.
Himself and his players need a big result against Crystal Palace on Thursday, where the Lilywhites will look to finally build some form.
