Jackson tells Rohl to rethink Raskin plans on basis of Rangers transfer developments
Nicolas Raskin is clearly Rangers’ most talented player, but Danny Rohl may not be getting the absolute most out of him.
Raskin may leave Rangers in the summer, and he needs to make the most of the time he has left at Ibrox before speculation around his future re-emerges.
Rohl is doing an excellent job at Rangers, and 24-year-old Raskin has been a key part of the team’s form in the Scottish Premiership.
Although the Bears have had many excellent performers, Raskin has been a standout at times this season.
The Belgium international provides an attacking threat from defensive midfield, and Rohl may flirt with the idea of playing him further forward after a recent transfer was completed.

Tochi Chukwuani signing should allow Nicolas Raskin to play further forward
Tochi Chukwuani joined Rangers in a £4million move from Austrian side Sturm Graz, signing a deal that will last until June 2029.
The 22-year-old helped his former side lift the domestic league title last season and has made 65 club appearances in the last 18 months.
Chukwuani has been impressive so far for Rangers, and he looks to be a smart acquisition who has plenty of time to develop into a top-class defensive midfielder.
Speaking on the Daily Record Hotline Live on Tuesday, journalist Keith Jackson said he believes that the arrival of Chukwuani could pave the way for Raskin to play as a number 10.
He said: “I would take a leaf out of Barry Ferguson’s book, and play Raskin much further up the pitch.

“He’s the one guy that knits things together, makes the key passes, and his instincts are good. Chukwuani looks like he’ll be great all day long.
“He’s got a bit of bite and can win the ball back. Get him in the team, have [Mohamed] Diomande in the midfield for a bit of legs, and push Raskin further forward.
“As a result, you would have a committed, industrious midfield that is full of energy.”
Thelo Aasgaard would therefore drop to the bench, which is not a surprise, given how ineffective he has been.
Raskin has shown that he is capable of playing in the number 10 role for Rangers, particularly when interim manager Ferguson was in charge.
How did Raskin perform under Barry Ferguson?
Ferguson replaced Philippe Clement in February 2025 for the remainder of last season.
One of his first changes was to play the Belgian higher up the pitch, and it worked to great effect.
Raskin registered five goal contributions in the last three league games of the campaign, and it was clear he found a rhythm in that role.
He won Rangers’ Players’ Player of the Year award after his fine form, but has since been deployed in a deeper role alongside Diomande or Connor Barron by both Russell Martin and Rohl.
With Chukwuani starting well at the base of midfield, it’s now up to Rohl to get the best out of Raskin in a position which he thrived in under Ferguson.
