Joe Rothwell likes Instagram post as Rangers announce loan exit for teammate
Rangers have had a busy start to the January transfer window, and it isn’t going to stop anytime soon at Ibrox.
Tochi Chukwuani was Rangers’ first signing of the window, coming in from Sturm Graz for a reported fee of £4.3million.
The Gers backed that up with the addition of Tuur Rommens from Westerlo, as well as bringing in Andreas Skov Olsen on loan from Wolfsburg.
Danny Rohl’s side has the option to buy the winger for around £9m at the end of the season.
Amid the trio of incomings, Rangers will want to keep trimming their squad, with Joe Rothwell one of those who could become a casualty.
Lyall Cameron completes loan move to Aberdeen
Lyall Cameron joined Rangers in the summer from Dundee, but the midfielder struggled for game time at the Gers in the first half of the season.
The 23-year-old has made just six appearances in the Scottish Premiership this term, featuring for less than 15 minutes in total since the arrival of Rohl.
It was confirmed on Friday evening that Cameron has joined Aberdeen on loan until the end of the season, in a bid for more game time.
The Scot will be hoping he can find some form for the Dons and return to Ibrox over the summer to force his way into Rohl’s plans.
Rangers announced Cameron’s departure on Instagram, sharing a photo of him playing for the Light Blues.
Rothwell was quick to show support for his teammate, liking the post.

Will Joe Rothwell leave Rangers this month?
Rothwell is another player who could be leaving Rangers this month, as he looks to resurrect his career away from Ibrox.
The midfielder only joined the Gers last summer, moving from Bournemouth to the Glasgow giants, but he has featured just eight times in the league this season.
He made his first appearance since November on Friday evening, as Rangers beat Annan Athletic 5-0 in the Scottish Cup.
Rothwell managed to pick up an assist in the win, but it is unlikely to extend his career at Ibrox.
The 31-year-old is clearly well down the pecking order under Rohl, and looks set to leave before the window closes.
