Keith Jackson: Cavenagh 'desperate' for deadline-busting Rangers transfer flurry after what Rohl's done

Andrew Cavenagh must be delighted with the turnaround that Rangers have had under Danny Rohl.

The Bears added another three points to their ever-growing Scottish Premiership tally, as Ibrox roared Rangers on to a 3-0 win against Dundee FC on Sunday.

Andreas Skov Olsen made his debut along with Tochi Chukwuani, as Rohl was able to get some minutes into the duo’s legs for the first time.

Goals from James Tavernier, Danilo, and Djeidi Gassama have shot the Gers into second, now just four points behind league leaders Hearts.

However, even though Rangers have the best momentum in the division, Cavenagh may not want to slow down on the incomings at Ibrox.

Keith Jackson confident Andrew Cavenagh will sign more players

Rangers have been tipped to make one more big signing before the close of the window, with plenty of transfer links flying around.

The arrival of Skov Olsen took the Bears’ signings up to three, and now it doesn’t seem like Rangers are far away from being the complete puzzle.

The gap to Hearts is closing every game, and it feels like it could only be a matter of time before the Gers reach the top spot.

While speaking on Daily Record’s Hotline Live, Keith Jackson explained why he expects Cavenagh and Co. to splash a little more money in the window yet after what he’s seen from Rohl.

Jackson said: “I feel that Rohl has done just an excellent job. I’m sure that Andrew Cavenagh will be desperate to back him as much as he can in what remains of the transfer window.

“The more quality he’s got at his disposal, the better chance he has of making a run for the line.”

But given the latest reveals, it’s becoming clear where the 49ers must improve, if they are to spend more money in the coming days.

Rangers’ defence doesn’t need any additions; stats prove it

Who would have thought that Rangers’ defence would become as solid as it is now? Under Russell Martin, the whole backline seemed shaky, but Rohl has instilled belief into every one of his defenders.

Apart from the game against Annan Athletic, where data is not provided, Rangers’ expected goals tally is extremely low all things considered.

Even in the Old Firm derby, the Bears came out on top defensively, which shifts the need for transfers elsewhere.

The Bears have been linked with signing more midfielders, but a striker is still the obvious transfer target remaining.

Bojan Miovski failed to inspire against Dundee, and it once again proved the need for a new number nine.
