Keith Jackson details Rangers 'trust issues' as people struggle to get on board with latest developments

Rangers’ win over Dundee on Sunday may have changed the picture in the Scottish Premiership title race.

Danny Rohl watched on as his side beat Dundee 3-0 at Ibrox, while Andreas Skov Olsen and Tochi Chukwuani were handed their first Ibrox outings.

James Tavernier, Danilo, and Djeidi Gassama were all on the scoresheet as the victory took the Gers up to second place in the table.

Celtic’s draw against Hearts meant that the Bears overtook the Bhoys in the league standings and are now just four points behind Derek McInnes’ side.

Keith Jackson was one man who doubted Rohl at the start, but it’s safe to say he believes the impossible is possible now, like many others.

Keith Jackson backtracks on previous Rangers title claim

Rohl has transformed Rangers since his arrival, and the Bears have now won their last eight games in all competitions, conceding just two goals in that time.

The Gers are showing true signs of championship mentality, and it may only be a matter of time before they hit the top spot in the league.

Rangers’ next three league fixtures:

Jackson said that Rangers were not “genuine” title contenders at the end of December, but he seems to have changed his opinion in a matter of weeks.

While speaking on the Daily Record’s Hotline Live, Jackson touched on the hurt that Rangers fans have previously felt, and insisted that this could be the Bears’ year.

Jackson said: “I think there’s trust issues there. These supporters have been turning up season after season and great expectations haven’t been met.

“There’s scar tissue. I think for some of the Rangers fans, they will be a little bit afraid to fall in behind this, because they’ve probably seen this movie too many times. But this one feels like a different movie.”

With the January window coming to a close, Andrew Cavenagh may not be fully done with transfer business either.

Rangers could sign Ryan Naderi and one other player before deadline

There have been suggestions that the Gers could yet have on more marquee signing up their sleeve, but what about two?

Rangers have submitted a £2.6million bid to sign Ryan Naderi from third tier German side Hansa Rostock.

The deal could pick up pace in the next couple of days, but the Bears have also been tipped with a move for Dani Rodriguez.

Rodriguez is a winger for Spanish giants Barcelona, and his side are looking to send the 20-year-old out on loan before the window shuts.

The Spaniard could be next to potentially follow Naderi through the doors at Ibrox, as an exciting final week lies ahead of the Bears.
