Kris Boyd noticed something ‘a bit strange’ about Danilo Pereira in Rangers win vs Dundee

Danilo Pereira is likely to remain a major talking point at Rangers right up until the transfer window slams shut at Ibrox next month.

Djeidi Gassama has been linked with a big-money exit, especially with deals done for Andreas Skov Olsen, and possibly young striker Ryan Don Naderi from Hansa Rostock.

Football Insider understands that Danny Rohl’s side are also eyeing Joel Piroe from Leeds United, but with the Gers in the Scottish Premiership title race, there is a fear of messing with the squad too much.

With the Light Blues now on a six-game winning streak in the league, Rohl has done an incredible job at Ibrox, but many are still expecting changes before the window slams shut on 2 February.

All eyes are on Danilo, who is heavily linked with a return to the Netherlands, and Kris Boyd believes he spotted a sign during his side’s 3-0 win over Dundee on Sunday, 25 January.

Danilo Pereira barely celebrates as Rangers secure Dundee win

The Gers were winning by just one goal, James Tavernier from the penalty spot, before Danilo intercepted a loose pass in the first minute of added time, slotting under Jon McCracken, but he barely celebrated.

Speaking on a podcast, shared by Sky Sports Scotland (27 January), Boyd said: “It was a bit strange when Danilo scored the goal, as if that was my [his] last goal. He has been linked with moves away.

“So it’ll be interesting to see how that one plays out in the next few days. If he goes, there’s no doubt, but even if he stays, I think they’ll go and get someone else in at the top end of the pitch.”

It was the striker’s fourth goal in all competitions this season, but with plenty of competition within the squad, he only has six Scottish Premiership starts to his name, and another eight substitute appearances.

Even Bojan Miovski has been tipped to leave Rangers already, with the new manager making key changes.

Danny Rohl could make further changes in the transfer window

There is still more than enough time for business to be done, with Skov Olsen and Tochi Chukwuani already making big impacts at Ibrox.

In the previous transfer window, Nico Raskin was almost expected to leave, but more than six months later, the Belgian midfielder continues to play a huge role in the Gers’ season.

Rohl’s team are just four points behind league leaders, Hearts, with fierce rivals Celtic dropping two points behind second place, and the title race is really heating up now.

New faces could be the difference between lifting their 56th league title or staring down the barrel of another disappointing campaign, with two different managers in charge.
