Late loan exit on cards today as player travels other way for Everton medical - report

Tyrique George will be the headline piece of transfer business completed by Everton on deadline day.

Everton have agreed a loan deal with Chelsea to sign George, with an option to make it a permanent switch in the summer included.

So far, Harrison Armstrong’s recall from Preston is the only significant piece of business, and he is set to remain at the Hill Dickinson Stadium for the rest of the season now.

With George arriving on Merseyside within hours, Adam Aznou is another name to keep an eye on.

Double deadline day deal on cards at Everton

Paddy Boyland of The Athletic has reported that George is en route for his medical after being granted permission to leave by Chelsea.

That could be the first of two deals sanctioned today by David Moyes.

It is said that Aznou could still leave on loan late in the day, with the left-back struggling for opportunities despite impressing in the FA Cup recently.

Everton lost to Sunderland in the third round, but it was Aznou who took the game to a penalty shootout by winning a late spot-kick in normal time.

Adam Aznou never got a real chance

Aznou has been crying out for chances at Everton, and there must be something he is doing desperately wrong behind the scenes at Finch Farm.

The Moroccan has been stuck behind Vitalii Mykolenko, who hasn’t exactly been performing well this season, no matter what the competition.

Everyone thought that would change after the FA Cup, but it hasn’t.

Looking at his stats from the Sunderland defeat via Sofascore, Aznou was fouled three times in 34 minutes off the bench, also completing 24 touches.

Playing further forward, the defender also won five of his eight duels and only misplaced one pass, but he has yet to feature since.

If he isn’t going to play at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, a loan move may be right for all parties, but given injuries in recent months, that may not happen.

Even with those issues, though, Aznou hasn’t featured, so a loan exit has to be sanctioned before the deadline in a matter of hours.
