Leeds United have to make Kasper Hogh signing top priority after Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s Manchester United display 

Leeds United claimed a priceless 2-1 victory over Manchester United on Monday, but not everyone was at their best at Old Trafford.

The victory for Daniel Farke’s side will likely be spoken about for years to come as the Peacocks took a massive stride towards survival.

However, it could have and perhaps should have been a far more comfortable scoreline, with the visitors missing a wealth of chances throughout.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, in particular, was unable to convert several key opportunities which could have proven to be costly on another day.

As a result, Leeds United have to step up their interest in Kasper Hogh in preparation for the upcoming season.

Leeds United need to bring in Kasper Hogh in the summer

Hogh has made a name for himself in Europe this season, being one of the key players behind Bodo/Glimt’s run in the Champions League.

The striker netted several key goals in the tournament, including against Sporting CP, Manchester City and Inter Milan.

Football Insider exclusively revealed that Leeds were chasing Hogh ahead of the summer transfer window.

However, after Calvert-Lewin’s performance against Man United, this interest needs to increase.

It has become increasingly clear in recent weeks that the England international is unreliable in front of goal.

At Old Trafford, he should have at least found the back of the net twice as Leeds were carving through the hosts’ backline.

Next season, these missed chances could be costly, and replacing Calvert-Lewin with Hogh would be a natural step forward if Farke wants to move away from the relegation zone.

Who else is interested in Hogh?

Football Insider exclusively revealed that Celtic were also interested in Hogh as they also look to upgrade their attack.

The 25-year-old’s form has attracted the interest of many sides, with Leeds potentially having a battle on their hands for his signature.

Unfortunately for the Peacocks, Hogh is said to want Champions League football if he is to leave Bodo/Glimt, which could complicate matters.

However, there is every chance that Farke could still convince him, especially if Leeds look to push for Europe themselves next season, or even get into it this campaign via winning the FA Cup.
