Lilywhite Rose: Tottenham could make deadline-busting move for Liverpool ace who 'ticks a lot of boxes'
Lucas Bergvall’s latest injury setback could force Tottenham back into the transfer market.
Tottenham added Conor Gallagher to their midfield ranks earlier this month, and were thought to be targeting other positions.
However, Thomas Frank may have to rethink that strategy after Bergvall was taken off against Dortmund with an ankle injury.
A timeframe has emerged on the issue, and it is not good news for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium outfit.

Tottenham could make a move for Curtis Jones this month
Tottenham have been linked with Liverpool ace Curtis Jones, and John Wenham believes that they could now move plans to sign him forward after the Swedish media confirmed Bergvall would miss significant time.
The Spurs insider, who runs the Lilywhite Rose account on X, believes that the club were initially planning to wait until the summer to see how his contract situation unfolded at Anfield.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, he said: “The links with Curtis Jones, yeah, it seems like if he doesn’t sign a new deal in the summer, I imagine Tottenham will revisit then, or they may even make a move during this January window.
“He is seen as a progressive passer, that is something Tottenham lack, you know, they’ve had the injuries to Rodrigo Bentancur, Lucas Bergvall, now out for two to three months as well.

“So Tottenham are in the market for another midfielder, but one that can pass forward and get the team on the front foot, and Curtis Jones ticks a lot of boxes for Tottenham.
“I think it’s certainly a player they’re looking at, it seems to have ramped up this week, and, you know, if you look at the Bergvall injury that happened, obviously came off in the game against Dortmund, but confirmed through the Swedish media that he will be out for two to three months.
“You know, Tottenham just do not have the bodies they need in that central area, having already signed Conor Gallagher, who’s got similar attributes to Bentancur and Palhinha, they need a different style of midfielder.
“I think Curtis Jones ticks a lot of boxes. I mean, I don’t know if Liverpool will make him available, but whilst his contract situation is as it is, other clubs are, you know, primed to make a move, and it seems like he is one Tottenham are after.”

Would Liverpool allow Jones to leave this month?
Spurs may well ramp up their pursuit this month, but whether the Reds would sell is a different matter entirely.
Jones has emerged as a key option in Arne Slot’s engine room, and it is his boyhood club, so the chances of the N17 outfit completing a move seem slim.
Frank and Co may well like him, but it would be a difficult deal to achieve, especially in the current window.
