Man United & City transfer target to cost £100-120m, club think they know where he’s going

Manchester United and Manchester City are reportedly likely to be the two main clubs in the race for the transfer of Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson.

The England international is dominating headlines at the moment after a superb season in the Premier League, and it’s easy to imagine him being a key player for his country at this summer’s World Cup in North America.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Forest now expect Anderson to join either United or City if he leaves this summer, though a deal won’t come cheap.

See below for details as Anderson could even cost as much as £120m…

“Forest expect Elliot #Anderson to join either Manchester United or Manchester City if he leaves this summer,” Plettenberg said.

“So far, no club has made direct contact with Forest. A fee in the region of £100-120m is being demanded.”

Arsenal and Chelsea out of the running for Elliot Anderson?

This latest update could mean that Arsenal and Chelsea are out of the running for Anderson as speculation grows that he’ll join one of the Manchester clubs.

We recently received information that Arsenal sensed an opportunity to move for Anderson, even if United and City were widely seen as further ahead in the race for the 23-year-old’s signature.

Chelsea also like Anderson as a replacement for Enzo Fernandez, but it seems this may no longer be a realistic option for the Blues.

United and City need Anderson more

In fairness, United are about to lose possibly two midfielders this summer, with Casemiro set to be out of contract, while Manuel Ugarte has flopped and could leave, as reported here.

That makes someone like Anderson an urgent priority for MUFC, who might need another midfield signing on top of that.

City are also looking in need of changes in the middle of the park, with Rodri’s future in some doubt as Real Madrid show an interest, according to Fabrizio Romano on his YouTube channel.
