Manchester United issue Matheus Cunha injury update ahead of Liverpool match
Matheus Cunha is set to return from injury for Manchester United’s Premier League match against Liverpool on Sunday.
The Brazil international missed United’s 2-1 win at home to Brentford on Monday evening due to a hip injury.
However, United have confirmed that Cunha took part in full training with his teammates ahead of Liverpool’s visit to Old Trafford this weekend.
Cunha has been one of United’s standout performers this season with eight goals and two assists in the Premier League.
Speaking about Cunha’s injury on Monday, Michael Carrick said: ‘He had a bit of a sore hip flexor after the game against Chelsea.
‘He was looking quite promising during the week. We thought he’d be okay but he didn’t quite progress quick enough. It’s nothing too serious but unfortunately he misses out tonight.’
United currently sit third in the Premier League and three points clear of fourth-placed Liverpool.
