Nico Raskin waves goodbye to Rabbi Matondi as emotional Rangers message penned after exit

Nico Raskin has delivered his farewells after Rabbi Matondo spoke out after his departure from Rangers was confirmed.

The Wales international had featured in just one Scottish Premiership outing this campaign, as an exit always looked likely.

Danny Rohl called on the winger to come off the bench in the February cup clash with Queens Park as he registered 29 minutes at Ibrox.

He hadn’t been seen even in a Gers matchday squad since that day and has now completed a mid-season departure.

Matondo has sealed a move to Brann in Norway and has now received a goodbye from Raskin after sharing a message to Rangers fans.

He was sent out to Hannover 96 last campaign and didn’t set the world alight before making his way back to G51.

His move to Norwegian outfit Brann has now been sealed and has prompted Matondo to thank Rangers for his spell in Govan.

He said: “To represent a club as big as Rangers is every footballer’s dream. I’ll forever be grateful I got to wear the famous blue, white and red. Thanks for the memories.”

Matondo is now waiting for his Brann debut and has received plenty of backing from his Ibrox colleagues, past and present.

Although the Govan faithful may be happy to see the back of the Welshman, the same can’t be said about many Rangers stars.

Raskin has led the messages to Matondo, sharing the message, “Goodbye, my brother,” alongside two sad faces and a crying emoji.

Emmanuel Fernandez has joined the Belgian in that, sharing five crying emojis and the message: “My boy made me style.”

Various other names in G51 shared their feelings with Mikey Moore, Bojan Miovski and Nedim Bajrami penning comments to the goodbye post.

Ibrox favourites Scott Arfield and Steven Davis have also written to Matondo, as the impact of his exit has been felt by plenty of big names.
