Nottingham Forest: Callum Hudson-Odoi shares successful surgery message, Chris Wood and Neco Williams respond
Callum Hudson-Odoi has already shared a message of positivity after the Nottingham Forest star was ruled out for the rest of the season.
The club has already confirmed that the tricky winger will miss the remaining five Premier League games and Europa League semi-final legs against Aston Villa, having gone off injured against FC Porto.
With six goals and four assists in 43 games this season, his absence will come as a huge blow to Vitor Pereira and the rest of the team, as the Reds battle against relegation from England’s top tier.
Forest have suffered from several injuries throughout the 2025-26 campaign, with Murillo also limping off against Burnley, and both setbacks will be massively disappointing to those at the City Ground.

Callum Hudson-Odoi is already looking ahead to Nottingham Forest return
Taking to Instagram (21 April), Hudson-Odoi wrote: “Surgery was successful, but definitely not the way I wanted to end the season. But with God’s timing and plan, hopefully I’ll be back stronger and better than before.
“Thank you for your continued support, always, and the messages. I appreciate all the love, and let’s get the recovery started so I can get back out there, doing what I love! No pain, no gain.”
Several of his teammates liked the post, with former Forest winger Anthony Elanga commenting, “Speedy recovery, ma boyyy,” with crying and heart emojis.
Neco Williams simply commented heart and praising hand emojis, while Wood wrote: “You’ve got this, bro! Be back in no time,” just weeks after the New Zealand international recovered from his own issue.
How have Forest supporters reacted to the news?
Forest supporters are absolutely gutted about the news, with their first-choice winger now unavailable for some of the club’s most important matches of the 2025-26 season.
Of course, it hands Omari Hutchinson and Dilane Bakwa the perfect opportunities to grab a run in the team, but Pereira would have much preferred to have all three in the squad.
Morgan Gibbs-White is the only Forest player with more goal contributions than the 25-year-old in the Premier League this season, tied on seven with striker Igor Jesus.
The Reds will need to fill the hole left by Hudson-Odoi’s absence, especially with the club’s status in the league still at stake with five games left to play.
