Nottingham Forest face tricky Vitor Pereira decision amid new sack speculation
Nottingham Forest will have to decide if they want to keep Vitor Pereira beyond this season in the coming weeks.
The 57-year-old signed a contract until the summer of 2027 when he arrived in February, but it is unclear whether decision-makers at the City Ground are convinced that he should lead the team forward.
Nottingham Forest’s season has been transformed under the Portuguese manager’s watch, with his team now unbeaten in their last eight games across all competitions.
Pereira’s side will play the first leg of the Europa League semi-final against Aston Villa on Thursday, and they hold a five-point buffer over the relegation zone.
But Nottingham Forest’s manager remains in a position of uncertainty, especially considering Wolves’ experience.

Nottingham Forest to consider Vitor Pereira’s time at Wolves
Football Insider exclusively revealed that Nottingham Forest will sack Pereira if they are relegated this season, but it remains unclear what his future will look like if they stay up.
Wolves found themselves in a similar position last season. The former FC Porto boss arrived in December 2024 and instantly provided results at Molineux.

A run of six consecutive Premier League wins ultimately saw Pereira’s side survive relegation with ease, and decision-makers were more than happy to see him stay on.
Even after Wolves had started the following season with four consecutive Premier League losses, the 57-year-old was handed a new three-year contract.
He was eventually sacked six weeks later after Wanderers went a 10th consecutive league game without winning.
The struggles Rob Edwards has also had with the now-relegated Wolves has proven that the problems lie far beyond Pereira, but the concerns for Nottingham Forest will remain.
TalkSPORT reported on Tuesday that the Portuguese boss is unlikely to be at the City Ground on a long-term basis, even if he guides his team to Europa League success.
Marco Silva tipped to replace Pereira
On the face of it, it seems risky to replace a manager who has got Nottingham Forest playing like they are at the moment.
Pereira’s side went to Sunderland on Friday and decimated them 5-0, off the back of a 4-1 win over Burnley in the game before.
But the Wolves factor will be at the back of all decision-makers’ minds. TalkSPORT reporter Alex Crook has tipped outgoing Fulham manager Marco Silva to replace him, if he is dismissed.
“I always felt if Marco Silva was to leave Fulham, I could see him at Forest,” Crook said. “He has a good relationship with Evangelos Marinakis during his time at Olympiakos where they eventually won the league together.”
