'One in a thousand' - Nils Koppen reacts to latest Rangers transfer news

Rangers are into the final stretch of the winter transfer market, and outgoings are picking up.

Andrew Cavenagh has splashed the cash in recent weeks to help Danny Rohl bring in some of his top targets.

Andreas Skov Olsen became the Gers’ third signing of the window after landing Tuur Rommens and Tochi Chukwuani, with Ryan Naderi possibly next to arrive at Ibrox.

However, Rangers knew they would have to let some players go, and the back end of the window is especially when loan movement starts to happen.

Nils Koppen played a big part for the Bears in previous transfer windows, and he will know just how high Findlay Curtis‘ ceiling is.

Nils Koppen wishes Findlay Curtis well on his Kilmarnock journey

There have been suggestions that Curtis should stay in Glasgow after his performance in Rangers’ 3-1 defeat to Porto midweek.

The winger assisted Djeidi Gassama’s opening goal, and despite the Bears falling short of a result, Curtis still performed better than expected.

But the 19-year-old has now linked up with Kilmarnock on loan, as Neil McCann finally landed his man.

After the switch was confirmed on Friday, Rangers‘ former head of recruitment, Koppen, reacted to the transfer on X.

Koppen wrote: “One in a thousand, respectful, hard-working, ready to show his quality. All the best for the coming period.”

Curtis could be the first of a few players to leave the Bears on loan in the coming days.

Clinton Nsiala and one more could leave Ibrox shortly

Curtis’ loan was needed in reality, and the same could be said in a potential move for Clinton Nsiala.

The centre-back is way down in Rohl’s pecking order, and the 22-year-old should really be starting games at his age.

Nsiala isn’t short of interest, as it’s clear a loan or even a permanent stint is needed, given the lack of game time.

Rabbi Matondo is somewhat of a forgotten man at Ibrox after his injury struggles, but the wide forward now seems to be fit again after featuring on Rohl’s benches in January.

Clubs are monitoring the Welshman’s situation with the Gers, and even more dominoes could fall yet in Rangers’ transfer window.
