Pep Guardiola to fume as Juventus told to sign Man City’s ‘champion’ Bernardo Silva
Manchester City should be begging Bernardo Silva to stay and sign a new contract ahead of the summer transfer window.
At 31 years of age, the Portuguese international continues to dominate in the centre of the park, as one of the first names on Pep Guardiola’s teamsheet each week.
Bernardo has already made 40 appearances for City during the 2025-26 campaign, also notching three goals and six assists, now often accompanied by Rodri and Nico O’Reilly.
Sadly, the hardworking playmaker’s current deal expires at the end of the season, and Stefan Borson told Football Insider that Bernardo is likely to leave Man City in just a few months.

Bernardo Silva is in the final six months of his Man City contract
With the Citizens in an era of transition, albeit still challenging for the Premier League and Champions League titles, experience is key when moving players on and bringing new faces in.
Bernardo has become one of the leading voices in the changing room, even being trusted with the captain’s armband, despite him potentially leaving during the summer.
There are always links between him and Barcelona, but each window, Man City find a way to keep the player on the books for another campaign, with supporters jumping for joy each time.

Despite his current situation, there is still hope amongst the fanbase that the veteran will put pen to paper before his deal expires, and Guardiola likely has the same hope, which is why Miralem Pjanic’s comments will do nothing to please him.
Pep Guardiola unlikely to appreciate Miralem Pjanic’s comments
Speaking to Gazzetta (4 March), the former Serie A star said, “In the summer, if I can’t afford the investment in Tonali, then I take Bernardo. He is the champion that Juventus needs.
“Quality, personality, experience, charisma. Bernardo makes you turn,” and while Pjanic is right on the money with his assessment of the player, early interest in him is not ideal at all.
Quotes about which teams should be vying for his siganture is only going to turn Bernardo’s head ahead of the upcoming transfer window, when he should be focusing on his current season.
His future remains completely unknown, so given the situation, Guardiola will be furious that former players are already talking about his exit away from the Etihad.
