PL club hold internal talks for Everton player - report
Manchester United have spoken internally about the prospect of signing James Garner from Everton in the summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old has emerged as a target at Old Trafford, with preparations being made to replace Casemiro, who will leave the Red Devils at the end of the season.
Garner has just signed a contract until 2030 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and it will be interesting to see how that affects any potential approach from the 20-time league champions.
The Englishman made his way through the youth ranks at Carrington before joining the Merseyside outfit permanently in 2022, but a return to Manchester may be on the cards.

James Garner not main target for Manchester United
Man United’s main targets to bolster their midfield next summer are Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson, Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton and Brighton & Hove Albion’s Carlos Baleba, according to the Daily Mail.
The news outlet reports on 24 January that the Premier League trio are the Red Devils’ top targets, but they may cost £70million or more.
It’s been suggested that the Old Trafford hierarchy may need to be smart and have their eyes on less high-profile targets ahead of the summer window.
Garner has had a brilliant season under David Moyes, playing in multiple positions for the Scottish manager to compensate for the thin squad in Merseyside.

The Hill Dickinson Stadium faithful will be confident about keeping hold of the midfielder after his recent contract extension, and only a massive offer from the Red Devils could potentially change the Toffees’ stance on selling him.
If the Blues want to make progress in the Premier League, then they have to keep their best players, and the Englishman is certainly one of them.

The Toffees have worked on several new contracts in recent months, with Jordan Pickford signing a new deal at the Hill Dickinson Stadium before Garner.
Jarrad Branthwaite has also committed his long-term future to Everton, which will be encouraging for supporters.

Another player who deserves fresh terms at the Toffees is Michael Keane, who was handed a one-year contract in the summer.
The 33-year-old English defender’s performances this season prove he can still be a valuable player for the Merseyside outfit in the coming seasons, but it remains to be seen what the future holds for him.
