Rangers 28-y/o on brink of move to English club - report

Danny Rohl has given the green light to allow another exit from Rangers this winter.

Rangers have already waved goodbye to Lyall Cameron in January, as the midfielder departed on loan to Aberdeen for the rest of the season.

That has allowed for new faces to make a move to Ibrox, with Andreas Skov Olsen the latest to sign for Rangers in a move from Wolfsburg.

The Dane followed Tuur Rommens and Tochi Chukwuani in winter switches to Rangers, but they look to have made way for further Govan exits.

Rohl appears to be the driving force behind the latest name on the departure list, with a deal set to be agreed with Hull City.

The Light Blues have been keen to refresh their squad throughout the January window after their recent turnaround in fortunes.

After a shocking start to the season under Russell Martin, many believed the rest of the campaign would consist solely of putting out fires.

That hasn’t been the case with Rohl helping the Gers back into a potential title race at the top end of the Scottish Premiership.

The German head coach still wants to give his side a fresh look, but that requires just as many exits as it does new signings.

That looks set to see Kieran Dowell be the latest to leave Rangers, with the Rangers review revealing that a move to Hull City is imminent.

The 28-year-old is set make a return to the English Championship on an initial loan move before joining the Tigers on a free transfer in the summer.

Dowell was previously deemed surplus to requirements by Rohl, with the manager giving an Ibrox exit the green light with less than two weeks remaining in the window.

It has been a long time coming, but it finally looks as if Dowell has found a route out of Rangers after three years in the Scottish Premiership.

The midfielder has been a bit-part player in recent months and even spent time on loan with Birmingham City in League One last season.

He now looks set to return to the EFL, this time with Hull, who currently sit fourth in the table with a good chance of a play-off finish this campaign.

An initial loan move to the MKM Stadium will make way for a permanent free transfer in the summer, something which will certainly be interesting if they are promoted to the Premier League.
