Rangers fans are set to receive a new hero as their club close in on their third new signing of the January transfer window.

Danny Rohl has overseen a drastic turnaround in the Gers’ recent fortunes, and supporters are now dreaming of the possibility of a first Premiership title since 2020-21.

Rangers completed the signing of Tochi Chukwuani last weekend, and have since followed it up with the arrival of Tuur Rommens from Belgian side Westerlo.

The Ibrox outfit are targeting an ambitious winter window as they bid to strengthen their hand in the title race, and their latest move has already got fans desperate to catch a glimpse of their new star.

Rangers fans in raptures as Andreas Skov Olsen signing imminent

Rangers have been closing in on Andreas Skov Olsen in recent days, with the Danish winger now set to undergo a medical ahead of his loan move on Thursday.

The 26-year-old has found himself out of favour with Wolfsburg so far this season, and the Bundesliga side have already agreed to sanction his loan departure to Rangers.

The Gers are set to sign the wideman on an initial loan deal until the end of the season, but they also hold an option to turn the move into a permanent one in the summer.

Skov Olsen previously enjoyed an electric stint at Club Brugge prior to his move to Wolfsburg, and that has already seen Rangers fans fall in love with their imminent new arrival.

One supporter suggested on X that “times are changing” in Glasgow as Skov Olsen is the calibre of player who Celtic would previously have hoped to target, while another suggested that he will “tear up Scotland” if he can re-discover his Brugge form.

He has also been labelled as a “fantastic player at a great age,” while another fan suggested that they are “absolutely buzzing” to see who Rangers will sign next summer, if this is the level of target they are chasing mid-season.

There has even been an early comparison to Rangers legend Brian Laudrup from one fan, who sees similarities in the style of the pair.

Skov Olsen already knows Tochi Chukwuani

Skov Olsen’s arrival as a Rangers player is now imminent, and Rohl will be hoping that he can immediately strike up a strong relationship on the pitch with one of his former teammates.

The winger is already familiar with Chukwuani, after the midfielder was coming through the youth ranks at Nordsjaelland while Skov Olsen was a first-team player there, shortly before he left for Bologna in 2019.

The latter even sent the former a message of congratulations via Instagram when his move to Ibrox was confirmed, and Rohl will be hoping that they can build on that relationship in royal blue.

Rangers will hope that their January business can give them the upper hand in the title race, and if Chukwuani and Skov Olsen can replicate their personal relationship on the pitch, then it could be a very exciting proposition moving forward.
