Rangers fans explode as Celtic to ban away fans from next Old Firm clash: ‘They have no shame’
Rangers supporters are in uproar after the news that Celtic are trying to ban away fans from the final Old Firm clash of the season.
The pair of bitter rivals are set to go head to head at Celtic Park on 10 May, in what could be a crucial game to help decide the outcome of the Scottish Premiership title race.
Rangers Review have reported that the Ibrox hierarchy have been told about the plans for their supporters to be locked out of the stadium, and it has unsurprisingly drawn an angry reaction from them.
The Gers are now understood to be “considering their options” as to their next move after learning of the potential ban, which comes as a result of the disorder at last month’s Scottish Cup quarter-final.
Rangers’ trip to Celtic Park is now just three games away, meaning that there is little time for their board to be able to protest against their rivals’ decision as a result.

Rangers fans in uproar as Celtic ‘play the victim card’
Rangers opened up the full Broomloan Road end of Ibrox for their defeat in the Scottish Cup, providing an unprecedentedly high away allocation compared to what has become expected for Old Firm clashes in recent years.
That afternoon ended in violence with both sets of supporters confronting each other on the pitch, and Celtic have moved to try and prevent such a scenario from potentially repeating itself in their next meeting.
Date (Celtic) Rangers Celtic 26 April (25) Motherwell (H) Falkirk (H) 4 May (3) Hearts (A) Hibernian (A) 10 May Celtic (A) Rangers (H) 13 May Hibernian (H) Motherwell (A) 16 May Falkirk (A) Hearts (H)
Rangers had been due to receive an allocation of around 2,200 seats for the derby clash, but there are now serious doubts as to whether any tickets will be made available for their supporters.
Unsurprisingly, the decision has not gone down well on social media, with several members of the Gers faithful in uproar on X over their rivals’ decision.
One fan wrote that Celtic have “no shame,” while referencing the damage that occurred to the Broomloan Road end during last month’s derby, while another said they were “not shocked at all”, and added that their rivals always stoop to “unimaginable depths.”
Another labelled the decision as “unbelievable,” and it was also suggested that Celtic had played “the victim card.”
- @SirJohnofCalvin: “Knew we shouldn’t have given them anything at our end. Treacherous. We are so weak.”
- @deanomac55: “What for? Let’s see what minerals the SPFL are made of now.”
- @liamhannah1987: “Cowards the lot of them…”
Opta’s supercomputer backs Rangers for league title
Opta’s supercomputer is backing Rangers to lift the Premiership title at the end of the season, with Danny Rohl’s side seen as more likely victors than either Hearts or Celtic.
Opta simulated the outcome of the league-split fixtures 10,000 times, and the Ibrox outfit emerged sitting at the top of the final league table in an impressive 47 per cent of those scenarios.
Hearts were seen as the second most likely champions at the end of the remaining five games for each team, with them emerging victorious in 35 per cent of the simulations.
By contrast, Celtic were assessed as having just an 18 per cent chance of lifting the title on 16 May, given that they are currently three points adrift of Hearts at the top of the table.
Rangers will be hoping to use their momentum in their favour after four straight league wins, but things like Celtic’s move to ban their fans could easily have a drastic impact on that form.
