Rangers fans roast player who offered ‘absolutely nothing’ vs Kilmarnock: ‘Shouldn’t see another minute’

Rangers increased pressure on Hearts at the summit as they beat Kilmarnock 5-1 on Wednesday at Ibrox.

Despite the win, it was a frustrating game for many of the Ibrox faithful as they struggled to break Killie down in the first half, despite the visitors going down to 10 players four minutes in after Dominic Thompson was sent off.

After James Tavernier converted an early penalty, there were few chances for the Gers to double their lead, with Kilmarnock still producing a few chances themselves.

While the second half saw an improvement, with Bojan Miovski, Andreas Skov Olsen, Oliver Antman and Mikey Moore finding the net, some player still put in a lacklustre display at Ibrox.

One of the worst performers was Thelo Aasgaard, with many Rangers fans furious with his display.

Rangers fans have had enough of Thelo Aasgaard

Aasgaard has struggled at Ibrox since his summer move to Glasgow.

In recent weeks, Aasgaard looked to have turned a corner at Rangers after a good run, but he failed to impress against Kilmarnock.

With Rangers fans knowing how important performances are with the Gers on the hunt for the Scottish Premiership title, they have now turned on the attacking midfielder, claiming that he “offered absolutely nothing” when he was on the field.

How bad was Aasgaard vs Kilmarnock?

According to Fotmob on 4 February, Aasgaard certainly had a game to forget against Killie.

The attacking midfielder only created one chance, had just two shots, lost all of his ground duels and was even dispossessed once.

With Rangers in the middle of a title fight, Rohl simply cannot afford to allow Aasgaard to remain in the side if he can’t string a consistent run of form together.

While Hearts did mess up on Tuesday against St Mirren, this is unlikely to burst their bubble.

Therefore, the Gers simply cannot afford any weak points, and as it stands, Aasgaard’s lack of creativity and clinical nature is a big issue.

As a result, Rohl should consider dropping the attacking midfielder if these performances continue, as it could cause points to be dropped in vital moments.

If not, it could easily cost the Old Firm side the title at the end of the season, with Celtic also still in the race for the trophy.
