'Really cruel' - Leanne Crichton far from happy despite Rangers Women win v Hibernian
Rangers boss Leanne Crichton believes the 1-0 win over Hibernian was a “poor advert” for the women’s game, and she wasn’t criticising the players.
Following Rangers’ damaging defeat to Scottish Women’s Premier League title rivals Hearts on Friday, the Gers could afford no further slip-ups for Hibernian’s visit to Broadwood Stadium on Wednesday.
Crichton’s team were far from their best, but in the end, Katie Wilkinson’s first-half penalty was enough to secure all three points.
Defending champions Hibs have now been deposed, with leaders Hearts 12 points ahead of them with three rounds of the post-split fixtures to go.
Rangers’ win took them to within four points of Hearts and up to second in the table, ahead of Glasgow City on goal difference.
After the match, Crichton revealed she was relieved but not best pleased by what she saw.
