Richard Keys reveals what friend of Igor Tudor thinks of him during Tottenham struggles
Richard Keys has been left confused by Igor Tudor at Tottenham, despite revealing significant support from Slaven Bilic following his appointment last month.
Spurs are winless across Tudor’s two matches at the helm, having fallen to a 2-1 defeat against Fulham after rivals Arsenal dismantled them at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium a week prior, picking up a 4-1 victory.
Tottenham are dangling dangerously close to the relegation zone, and need to find form quickly while Nottingham Forest and West Ham, behind them, also continue to stumble.
Tudor arrived as interim manager with one aim: to steer Spurs clear of relegation.
And while that is a sentence that should not be uttered, it is the reality for Tottenham, and they have shown no signs of escaping trouble just yet.
Richard Keys baffled by Igor Tudor – what did Slaven Bilic tell him?
Tudor arrived in North London having guided Juventus to a Champions League spot last term, further emphasising his reputation as a ‘firefighter’ after righting the wrongs of Thiago Motta’s tenure in Turin.
Though at Tottenham, these fires just aren’t going out, with Keys remaining unconvinced in his blog.
“Spurs are poor,” said the broadcaster.
“I said last week I hadn’t really considered they could go down until that defeat at home to Arsenal. It’s 10 now since they won – their worst run since Ossie Ardiles was in charge. They stayed up that year by the skin of their teeth, but it was scary.

“I just don’t get Tudor,” he added.
“I don’t know him, but Slaven Bilic does, and he gave him rave reviews when he was appointed. I love Bilic, so I’ll believe him when he says Tudor knows what he’s doing. But have a word, Slav – tell him to put his arm round people in his squad. Give them a few days off. Make friends of them.”
Following Sunday’s defeat at Craven Cottage, Tudor said that they are lacking the urge to stay there and suffer, with Keys adding that the Croatian should protect them, not expose them.
The last of all this week’s midweek Premier League matches, Tottenham welcome Crystal Palace on Thursday, where a win and subsequent form is imperative for the Lillywhites.

Tottenham must find form – they can’t keep relying on others
While it is a hopeful suggestion that no doubt comes to mind of every side struggling at the wrong end of the table, the simple fact of the matter is that Tottenham must take control of their own destiny.
The recent losses to Arsenal and Fulham have coincided with West Ham and Nottingham Forest remaining rather hapless themselves, with the latter falling to defeat in both league matches under Vitor Pereira thus far.

Spurs were aided by the trio of Ipswich, Leicester and Southampton last term, with their lack of form keeping Tottenham far away from trouble, no matter how bad things got under Ange Postecoglou.
This time, there is much less room for manoeuvre. Either Forest or West Ham will inevitably pick up a result at some point, and Spurs have to be in a position to counteract that.
Starting with Thursday’s clash with Crystal Palace, Tudor’s side must take control of their own destiny, because relying on others to keep dropping points will simply drag them further into trouble.
