‘Sacked tonight’ – West Ham fans say the same thing about Nuno Espirito Santo dismissal
West Ham suffered their worst defeat in recent memory on Saturday as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side lost 3-0 against bottom-side Wolves.
The match was no doubt a must-win for the Hammers, with the East London side languishing in the relegation zone, four points from safety.
Therefore, up against a Wolves side that hadn’t won a Premier League season to date, a victory was expected.
However, the match was essentially over before the half-time whistle as they battered the Hammers, with West Ham fans now demanding that Nuno Espirito Santo is sacked.

West Ham fans want Nuno Espirito Santo sacked tonight
Nuno was already the favourite to be sacked next in the Premier League going into the game.
Despite working wonders at Nottingham Forest last season, the appointment of the former Tottenham manager clearly has not worked out, with the coach only overseeing two wins in 15 matches at the London Stadium.
After what was a humiliating afternoon at Molineux, West Ham fans are now demanding that the manager be sacked immediately.

Nuno has to be out after this – unless we have the opposite in the 2nd half #COYI— The NOVA Irons (@NOVAIrons) January 3, 2026
If Nuno isn’t sacked tonight we are down straight away. Even more stubborn than Potter.— Ben Snowy (@ben_snowy500) January 3, 2026
We get thumped Nuno has to go!— John_Q72 (@Q72John) January 3, 2026
Many supporters also now believe that relegation is inevitable, with the Hammers seemingly incapable of picking up a victory at the moment.
Sack Nuno.
Sack the players, Championship level at best.
Relegate us now to save 4 months of misery.
The club is finished. ZERO game-plan against a team with 3 PL points, no win the season & destined to be relegated.#WHUFC— Sam Royden (@SamRoyden) January 3, 2026
Nuno has made a lot of strange decisions but I don’t see anyone available and interested in managing us being able to change anything. Today is just a complete collapse and the first today I genuinely think we are getting relegated— Gary Pipe (@gpipe89) January 3, 2026

Who is the favourite to replace Nuno?
Currently, the favourite to take over at West Ham is Slaven Bilic if Nuno is given the boot.
The former West Brom manager oversaw a highly successful spell at the Hammers almost a decade ago, where he returned the East London club to Europe.
Bilic was previously linked to West Ham when Graham Potter was sacked, but Nuno was eventually chosen as the successor.
However, given the Serbian’s affinity with the fans, it could be a wise appointment from David Sullivan in an attempt to get fans back on their side.
Yet, it remains to be seen if Bilic would be even interested in the job, considering the bleak position West Ham find themselves in at the midway point of the campaign.
