Saudi millions? Trabzonspor break silence on Al Ahli’s move for Nigeria’s Paul Onuachu

Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu has been heavily linked with a move to Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli in recent weeks, and Trabzonspor have already made a firm decision regarding his future, Soccernet.ng reports.

​Onuachu has arguably been the standout performer in the Süper Lig this season. He currently leads the goalscoring charts with an impressive 21 goals in 24 appearances, with two assists to go.

His contributions have been instrumental in propelling the Black Sea Storm to third in the table, where they sit just four points behind league leaders Galatasaray.

​Naturally, such form has not gone unnoticed. Al Ahli have reportedly identified the Nigerian hitman as a potential replacement for England striker Ivan Toney and are prepared to offer top dollar for his services.

According to reports, the 31-year-old is being tempted by a massive wage offer of approximately €200,000 per week—effectively quadrupling his current salary at Trabzonspor.

​According to Türkiye Gazetesi, Trabzonspor have stated they will not entertain any offers for Paul Onuachu. The club sees him as an indispensable asset and is unwilling to sanction a sale anytime soon.

​The Black Sea Storm also hold a strong negotiating position, as the Super Eagles star still has two years remaining on his current contract.

However, Saudi clubs are known for being incredibly persuasive due to their immense financial backing. If a truly lucrative offer is placed on the table, Trabzonspor’s resolve could be tested.
