Simon Jordan gives 'idealistic' verdict on reason for radio silence after Rangers v Celtic aftermath
Rangers and Celtic have yet to speak about the full-time scenes that were witnessed at Ibrox on Sunday.
Danny Rohl’s side were beaten after extra time on penalties by Celtic, which saw them knocked out of the Scottish Cup Quarter-final, but that wasn’t the main concern from the match.
After travelling, Hoops supporters invaded the pitch at Ibrox, and many Gers fans then did the same, resulting in what can fairly be described as scary scenes for anyone watching.
The Scottish FA are said to be investigating multiple incidents from what happened after the shootout, as Celtic and Rangers have both stayed silent so far.
Rangers play St. Mirren next in the league, but it would be bizarre if the Bears had made no announcement by then, as Simon Jordan seems to have a good understanding of the lack of communication heard so far.

Simon Jordan suggests Rangers and Celtic won’t be able to agree over impending statements
Celtic fans may not return to Ibrox in the future after Rangers were kind enough to open the full Broomloan stand to travelling supporters on the weekend.
Both clubs will be in touch with the Scottish FA over the incident and will act in the best interests of their own fans and team.
- Fines could be dished out by the Scottish FA to both Celtic and Rangers
- The clubs had just reached a compromise over fan control for Old Firm derbies
While speaking live on talkSPORT this Tuesday, Jordan explained why both sides are most likely trying to come to the best conclusion before any statements, which will only be beneficial for themselves, not each other.
Jordan said: “Knowing the clubs and their personalities as you know them, do you not think it’s slightly idealistic in terms of expectation? They can’t agree on anything.
“So to get them to come to a joint decision, you’re not going to get them to come together and put out a joint statement about their fans, they would like to blame each other.”
In Rangers’ case, they may even try to defend their own fans, given it was the Celtic supporters who made the first move.
The Ibrox toxicity that hasn’t been seen under Danny Rohl before
Sure, there have been moments where Rohl will have been surprised with the moans and groans heard around Ibrox this season, but it’s been nothing compared to what was seen under Russell Martin.
The German head coach has a break from action at Ibrox, as his side head to the SMISA Stadium on Sunday to take on St. Mirren, in a game which they simply can’t lose.
Game Venue Date Kick-off time St. Mirren vs Rangers The SMISA Stadium Sunday, 15 February 12:00 pm
If the Bears return to Ibrox the following week without the three points against St. Mirren, Rohl could be welcomed back with a stadium full of unhappy supporters.
The former Sheffield Wednesday boss is heading into what could be his make-or-break moment as Rangers head coach, something which could be looked back on in years to come, if he makes it out of this.
