Skov Olsen responds with one word when asked about permanent Rangers transfer already
Rangers fans can’t wait to see Andreas Skov Olsen play for the first time.
Skov Olsen was announced as a new Rangers player at Ibrox before they beat Annan Athletic 5-0 in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup on Friday.
Alongside January signings Tochi Chukwuani and Tuur Rommens, the 26-year-old was given a huge ovation by the Bears fans.
The Dane will likely make his debut on 25 January when the Light Blues host Dundee in the Scottish Premiership.
Rangers reached an agreement with Wolfsburg to sign him on loan until the end of the season, but the Dane might stay at Ibrox for much longer than six months.
Andreas Skov Olsen hopes to stay at Rangers once his loan spell ends
There is an option to sign Skov Olsen permanently for £9million at the end of the season.
In an interview with RangersTV on 17 January, Skov Olsen replied “definitely” when he was asked if he hoped his Rangers loan would be extended beyond the summer.
He went on to say, “This is the biggest club here in Scotland. When I heard the interest from Rangers, I just really wanted to go, and I’m super happy that it’s finally done and I’m here. So yeah, very happy.

“I believe I have much more to give and to develop more and become a better player every day. So yeah, definitely.”
The Denmark international joined Wolfsburg from Club Brugge for £12m in January 2025, but he failed to hit the ground running.
He has now moved to Govan with the hopes of rediscovering his form in Belgium, and being a left-footed player who plays on the right wing means he’ll slot straight into the starting line-up.

It’s clear that Rangers desperately needed to add quality to their attack, and if Skov Olsen matches the expectations placed on him, then the Bears will do whatever it takes to sign him permanently.
Andreas Skov Olsen spoke with Gers legend Brian Laudrup ahead of loan transfer
The new signing revealed he spoke to former Rangers loanee Vaclav Cerny, Oliver Antman, and ex-Gers icon Brian Laudrup before arriving in Govan.
Laudrup played for the Bears between 1994 and 1998 and was part of the team that won nine Scottish Premiership titles in a row.
Skov Olsen, who will wear the number seven shirt, detailed how speaking to his fellow compatriot helped him understand what it will mean to play for Rangers.
He said: “I can tell you a bit about it. He first of all told me about his time here, about the club, the city, the people, and the time he had, how great it was. And he gave me some advice for the club and the city.
“So that was basically it, and then just a normal conversation about life. Yeah, that would be very nice [to emulate him a little bit].”
