Sources: Kieran Trippier decides on next move after Newcastle as exit announced
Kieran Trippier is keen to move abroad again when he leaves Newcastle United as a free agent this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The departing 35-year-old is on the radar of several Premier League clubs who are keen to add further experience to their ranks, with the defender available on a free transfer.
However, sources have indicated that the veteran would prefer to take on a new challenge entirely, with clubs in both the MLS and the Saudi Pro League expected to open the door for him.
Trippier will leave Newcastle after four-and-a-half years in their colours, and there is set to be a whole host of clubs who try to tempt him to join them for the next stage of his career.
He previously spent time abroad when he played for Atletico Madrid between 2019 and 2022, and that could be on the cards for him again this summer, while Newcastle are already working to find a replacement.

Kieran Trippier ready to reject Premier League advances
Trippier has been a reliable figure for Newcastle since he first joined the North East outfit back in January 2022.
He has become one of the most trusted members of Eddie Howe’s squad on Tyneside, and he has delivered some big moments on the pitch, including a notable 17 Premier League assists across his first two full seasons with them.

However, he is now set to depart upon the expiry of his contract, and he looks likely to have a wide array of options available to him when it comes to his next step.
The former England international has spent many years in his country’s top flight with the likes of Newcastle, Tottenham and Burnley, and it is now clear that he has got his heart set elsewhere.
Trippier still holds a reputation as being a player capable of turning in quality performances, and several clubs are ready to try and act on that this summer.
Nevertheless, the full-back is intending to distance himself from any advances from elsewhere in the Premier League, in the hope that he can take in a new league.
Trippier to be part of huge Newcastle exodus
Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown recently told Football Insider that Newcastle have “serious concerns” over the futures of several of their key players this summer.
Trippier could potentially be followed out of the exit door by Fabian Schar, whose contract is also due to expire this summer, while several important stars have been subject to interest from elsewhere.
A defensive rebuild could potentially be on the cards at St James’, with Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall both attracting significant interest from top clubs.
The Magpies are increasingly likely to miss out on European football for next season, and that could have a huge impact on the state of their squad come the start of 2026-27.
