Stefan Borson: Arsenal well placed to smash club record after ‘impressive’ financial update
Arsenal have improved their financial situation dramatically following their upturn in form on the pitch in recent years.
Arsenal posted a club-record revenue in their latest published accounts for 2023-24 after their turnover surged from £467million to £617m.
Deloitte’s 2026 Money League has revealed the Gunners’ revenue improved to £690m last season, having finished second in the Premier League table for the third successive campaign.
Arsenal lost 3-2 against Manchester United on Sunday (25 January) in a blow to their title hopes.
However, Mikel Arteta’s side still hold a four-point lead over Manchester City and Aston Villa at the top of the Premier League table.

Why Arsenal’s revenue will surpass £700m this season
Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider Arsenal’s revenue will surpass £700m if they win the Premier League and perform well in Europe this season.
Arsenal are currently favourites to win the Champions League after claiming victories in all of their matches to top the league phase.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Gunners’ finances, Borson said: “I think you’d expect them to break £700m this season.
“To be honest, whether they win the Premier League or not, certainly if they win it, or won multiple trophies, they will break £700m.
“The journey they’ve been on, particularly on the commercial side, has been impressive. I think a number of clubs really sorted themselves out five years ago and said, ‘We’re underperforming here’.”

Deloitte’s figures revealed Arsenal’s commercial income jumped from £217m to £264m last season.
Meanwhile, their matchday revenue surged from £129m to £154m, with broadcast improving from £256m to £273m after reaching the Champions League semi-finals.
Why Arsenal have ‘built-in advantage’ over Premier League rivals
Borson insisted Arsenal’s north London location hands them an advantage over some of their Premier League rivals.
“Arsenal has a built-in advantage anyway with their London base,” said Borson.
“It’s always going to be an advantage both on ticket prices and on their ability to find a commercial arrangement. Chelsea you could argue is also the most central London club, but you can be at Arsenal within minutes from being in the city or the West End really, so they’re very well located.

“They have a lot of fans who are decision makers and that helps, so it’s been impressive growth.”
Liverpool lead the way financially in the Premier League after their revenue reached £702m after claiming the Premier League title last season.
