Striker now makes offer of his own to seal Rangers move, as Gers close in on PL loan deal - report

Ryan Naderi is now reportedly offering Hansa Rostock the chance to re-sign him on loan if they allow him to join Rangers permanently before Monday’s transfer deadline.

The Scottish Premiership giants have been gunning hard to sign the 22-year-old German striker before the winter transfer window closes at 11pm on 2 February.

On Friday, Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg reported that Hansa Rostock have rejected a revised £3.1million bid for Naderi from Rangers.

It is understood that the former Borussia Monchengladbach player wants to make the move to Rangers, who are looking at signing Leeds striker Joel Piroe on loan if they’re unable to land their top target.

A new update from German journalist Niclas Borner says that Naderi is “offering to let himself be loaned back to Hansa for the second half of the season”.

It seems to be a desperate attempt by the striker to seal an eventual permanent move to Ibrox, even though it means Rangers may be without the player they want for the remainder of their 2025-26 title race.

However, it seems as though there’s a plan in place, with the RTL Sport journalist reporting that the Gers are “close to securing a loan” for Piroe.

Celtic had been keen on signing Piroe on loan from Leeds. However, the 49ers Enterprises-owned English club had no interest in agreeing to a deal that could harm Rangers.

It now seems as though the plan could be for the Gers to sign Naderi permanently now and loan him back to Hansa Rostock to complete the season in the German third-tier.

And their craving for a new striker will be fed by signing Piroe on a half-season loan from Leeds.

The Scottish Premiership title race is certainly heating up.

Who is better out of Joel Piroe and Ryan Naderi?

Ultimately, the stats this season are going to say that Naderi has been in better form than Piroe.

As per stats by Sofascore, Naderi outperforms Piroe in pretty much every single attacking statistic across all competitions this term.

Naderi has more goals, more matches, more shots per game, more touches in the opponent’s box, and so on.

However, the stats will always fail to take into account that Naderi’s eight goals and five assists this season have come in the German 3. Liga.

While he’s been banging them in against Viktoria Koln and SSV Ulm, Piroe has been playing second fiddle to Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the Premier League.

It’s like comparing chalk and cheese, or apples and oranges.

However, the deal that’s being mooted right now makes sense if Rangers really believe that Naderi has a lot of potential.
