Striker's agent holds crunch talks as Rangers submit record-breaking bid - report

Hansa Rostock are refusing to give in to Rangers’ attempts to sign Ryan Naderi late in the winter transfer window.

With the Scottish window shutting at 11pm on Monday, the Gers have limited time to add to Danny Rohl‘s squad to see out the rest of the season.

Rangers have fought their way back into the Scottish Premiership title race despite a horrific start to the season, and the club’s new American owners seem to know that if they can add some serious firepower to the attack this winter, they’ll massively increase their chances of silverware.

Naderi, 22, is now a major target for the Light Blues.

However, despite the German’s desire to move to Ibrox and Rangers’ willingness to loan him back to Hansa Rostock, the 3. Liga club are proving to be stubborn negotiators.

Ryan Naderi’s agent unable to make Hansa Rostock breakthrough

BILD Mecklenburg reported on Saturday that Rangers have offered up to £3.1million to sign Naderi, including bonuses and a sell-on clause.

They’re even ready to let the former Borussia Monchengladbach player rejoin Hansa for the rest of the campaign as they aim to win promotion to Germany’s second tier.

However, despite Rangers’ fair offer and Naderi’s wish to head to Ibrox, Hansa’s sporting director Amir Shapourzadeh is “hesitant”.

BILD claims that he held a meeting with the forward’s agent on Thursday, but Hansa are refusing to budge.

The German newspaper adds that at this point, “Rangers’ patience is limited” over what seems to be a financial “bullseye” for Hansa.

Hansa Rostock stance is pure madness – who could Rangers sign instead?

Stats by Sofascore show that Naderi has had a superb season with Hansa Rostock, so it’s understandable for them not to want to sell their star man.

He’s scored eight times in 17 league matches, with Hansa now sitting fourth in 3. Liga, just two points behind leaders MSV Duisburg.

Getting over £3million is huge for a club at that level in Germany, and a club-record sale for Hansa, whose current biggest exit came in 2001 when Victor Agali was sold to Schalke for just over £1.7m.

It’s at a point now where Rangers should think about walking away.

Leeds striker Joel Piroe is a loan option for the Light Blues and he’s proven at a much higher level than the third tier of German football, after smashing it in the English Championship last term.
