Talks advance for Rangers loan exit, club previously wanted player last year - report

Rangers are considering departures after the arrival of Danny Rohl’s new signings.

Tuur Rommens’ Ibrox move was confirmed after the announcement of Tochi Chukwuani, as the duo are set to make their debuts for the Gers against Annan Athletic.

Andreas Skov Olsen is also close to joining Rangers, with the Dane potentially arriving as the Bears’ third signing of the window already.

However, Rohl knows he needs to let some players go this month for various reasons, and Lyall Cameron is somebody who may leave for game time.

Aberdeen have inquired about Cameron, and it appears Rangers are seriously considering the midfielder’s exit.

Sky Sports share update on Lyall Cameron to Aberdeen

Cameron has been a casualty of Rohl’s arrival and has been unable to start a league game since the end of August.

The 23-year-old has only managed to feature three times off the bench under Rohl, totalling just 13 minutes of game time since October.

Cameron was a standout for Dundee FC last campaign, and his previous performances in the Scottish Championship are what initially attracted the Bears to make a move last year.

According to Sky Sports on Thursday, talks between Aberdeen and Rangers over a loan move for Cameron are progressing well, but a deal has yet to be agreed.

Rangers pipped the Dons to the Scot’s signature in the summer after his contract with Dundee expired, but Aberdeen are hoping to get a deal done this time around.

The Bears want to help the midfielder get valuable minutes in the second half of the season, and Aberdeen could be the perfect place for him to develop.

Findlay Curtis to follow Cameron in Rangers exit

Findlay Curtis is another Rangers man who is struggling for any meaningful minutes under Rohl, which is understandable given the performances of players in front of him.

It looked like the young winger was going to play a pivotal role for Russell Martin at the start of the season, but his chances soon fizzled out when Rohl came to Glasgow.

However, Curtis isn’t short of interest, and he is another who could leave on loan for the second half of the campaign.

Bailey Rice is someone else who could leave, but a permanent sale has been suggested in the teenager’s case.

There are many more moving pieces to Rangers’ January transfer window, and twists and turns are yet to take place.
