The Bundesliga’s African stars aiming for FIFA World Cup qualification in the October international break
Borussia Dortmund’s Ramy Bensebaini secured FIFA World Cup qualification for Algeria and Bayern Munich’s Nicolas Jackson did the same for Senegal before their Klassiker clash on Matchday 7. They’re among several African Bundesliga players to have secured spots at next summer’s tournament…
Having opened his Bayern account in their UEFA Champions League win over Pafos, Jackson grabbed a goal and assist as Senegal raced to a 5-0 victory over South Sudan on Friday. A 4-0 win against Mauritania on Tuesday then secured their place in the finals.
Jackson was joined by a former Bayern forward Sadio Mané (who netted twice against Mauritania) and ex-Mainz defender Moussa Niakhaté in the Senegal squad, as well as former Cologne full-back Ismail Jakobs.
