‘This is why Tottenham haven’t sacked Igor Tudor ahead of Liverpool clash – this is when it will happen’
Igor Tudor is unlikely to last until the end of the season as Tottenham Hotspur creep ever-closer to the Premier League relegation zone.
The new manager has lost all four of his games in charge since taking over from Thomas Frank, with Spurs floating just one point above the dropzone with nine games remaining.
After six losses on the bounce, the Lilywhites must now come up against Arne Slot’s Liverpool, a side they haven’t beaten at Anfield since 2011, but the Reds are also in bad form.
Tottenham could have a new manager very soon, but according to former Arsenal star Paul Merson, the Liverpool game has come too soon for Spurs to make a change in the dugout.

Tottenham backed to sack Igor Tudor after impending Liverpool defeat
Speaking on Sky Sports (13 March), Merson said: “I am, and I’m not. I am because of the results, but I’m not because it’s Liverpool away. I don’t know what manager would want to come in for the Liverpool game.
“I think they’ll wait until this game is over, and that gives them another week before the big game. For me, it’s not a free hit at all. If another manager comes in and you get beaten by three or four…
“I think they’ll wait. I’ll be shocked if he’s the manager for the cup final against Nottingham Forest.”
In between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest, Spurs also have their Champions League second leg tie against Atletico Madrid, but if the manager had any sense, he would rest players in Europe.
Who is the favourite to replace the current Tottenham manager?
Football Insider understands that Tottenham are accelerating Tudor’s sack plan, and once again, the home supporters are rioting against the man in charge in the dugout.
Of course, the owners are also facing crushing pressure from the Spurs faithful, and even at the Cheltenham races, Harry Redknapp admitted that he would take the job if it were offered.
Tim Sherwood and Sam Allardyce have both been named in the list of potential new managers, while bigger names such as Roberto De Zerbi have also entered the race.
Appointing Tudor was always going to be a big risk. Very few are surprised by just how badly it has worked out for the Lilywhites.
