Thomas Frank and Tottenham staff should hang heads in shame after disgraceful Lucas Bergvall injury footage
Tottenham snapped their five-game winless run with a victory over Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night in the Champions League.
Goals from Cristian Romero and Dominic Solanke handed Tottenham a 2-0 win over Dortmund, in what was a massive night for the under-fire Spurs boss Thomas Frank.
Frank is still on the verge of being sacked despite his side’s victory in the Champions League, with former Tottenham great Robbie Keane mooted as an interim candidate should he be axed.
However, the win against the German side, which moves Tottenham into the top eight of the Champions League, was marred by a concerning injury to Lucas Bergvall.

Tottenham staff should grimace as frustrating Lucas Bergvall footage surfaces
Bergvall has had his injury problems this season, with the talented 19-year-old midfielder struggling to make an impression on the starting XI consistently.
Tottenham fans have criticised Frank’s management of Bergvall, as the Swede hasn’t yet found his place in the team, and many feel that he should’ve received more opportunities than he has.
As such, Tuesday night’s game against Dortmund was a big chance for him to really stake his claim to hold a larger role at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but it ended in disaster for him.
Having banked a good first-half performance, Bergvall picked up an injury after the break, and it soon became obvious to many inside the ground that it wasn’t something he’d be able to shake off.
And, in footage taken from the match that was shared on X, Bergvall can be seen hobbling around for minutes, often putting his head in his hands and giving off the telltale signs that he couldn’t continue.
However, despite this, Spurs coaches asked him to play on for several minutes before he slumped to the ground in pain once again.
He was then brought off the pitch for an assessment, before being made to do a few jumps up and down on his injured ankle, as well as being sent to do a couple of short jogs, and was then sent back on.
Almost immediately, Bergvall was once again looking towards the bench, clearly pleading to the Tottenham bench to bring him off, but still he carried on despite being barely able to move.
It was only until the 62nd minute of the game that he was finally brought off for good, and in the aftermath, it’s now been revealed he will be sidelined for two-three months.
Had Tottenham’s coaches not asked him to continue playing, even when it was clearly obvious that he’d done some serious damage and was in a world of pain, the severity of the injury may have been lessened.

Tottenham fans fume at coaching staff as Bergvall situation not a first
Following the scenes involving Bergvall against Dortmund, many Tottenham fans have been expressing their frustrations with the coaching staff.
Not just for the way Bergvall’s injury was handled, though, as numerous supporters pointed out that this isn’t the first time that a player has been made to play on through an obvious injury.
“Didn’t they do the exact same to (Radu) Dragusin?” one Tottenham fan wrote.
Another said: “Happens year on year. The whole making a player do sprints without being able to ascertain what the injury is from physical examination and the player’s description of what they’re feeling is alarming. No care or caution from afar.”
It’s simply disgraceful, and the squad is getting weaker by the day right now.
