Tottenham chiefs risk a riot after world-record Micky van de Ven and Liverpool transfer update
Micky van de Ven’s future at Tottenham remains in doubt.
Thomas Frank is under intense scrutiny at Spurs as his side sit 14th in the table, and the relationship between the fans and ENIC is completely fractured.
Despite the team’s struggles under Frank, Van de Ven has been Tottenham’s best player this season.
With Spurs looking unlikely to qualify for the Champions League next season, they may need to consider selling some of their stars in the summer transfer window.
Van de Ven is Tottenham’s most valuable asset, but reports linking him with Liverpool will undoubtedly anger Spurs fans.

Tottenham set price tag of over £100m for Micky van de Ven
He is one of the leaders in the dressing room, but after confronting supporters following the 3-2 loss to Bournemouth on 7 January, his long-term future in N17 looks increasingly uncertain.
Daily Mail journalist Matt Barlow claimed on 21 January that Liverpool are interested in signing the Dutch defender in the summer.
TalkSPORT have now reported on Thursday that Spurs value Van de Ven in excess of £100million, which would make him the most expensive defender in football history.
That record fee still belongs to Harry Maguire following his £80m move to Manchester United in 2019.
The 24-year-old is under contract with Spurs until 2029, and it’s no shock that ENIC won’t let the centre-back leave for a Premier League rival unless they pay an extortionate fee.
However, if Liverpool do sign Van de Ven, then it will be a damning indictment of how Spurs are run.

Tottenham fans won’t forgive ENIC if Van de Ven moves to Liverpool
Chairman Joe Lewis has been under pressure to sell Tottenham, with fans furious at how the club has been run over the past decade.
Spurs’ recruitment simply hasn’t been good enough, and it’s the second season in a row where they are lingering in the bottom half of the Premier League table past the halfway point.
Van de Ven’s absence would be huge for Spurs next season, and they’ll find it incredibly tough to replace him with a player of the same calibre.
Stat Van de Ven Appearances 21 Goals 3 Pass accuracy 89.6% Tackles 23 Interceptions 18 Recoveries 76
The Netherlands international’s blistering pace has single-handedly won Spurs certain matches, and they can’t afford to let him go to Liverpool; otherwise, Lewis faces more unrest from the supporters.
Regardless of how much Tottenham may gain from selling Van de Ven, they’d be strengthening a Premier League rival who are already miles better than them.
It would be yet another valid reason for Spurs fans to riot against ENIC.
